AKNVAS

Aknvas is a NYC based advanced contemporary womenswear brand founded by Danish designer Christian Juul Nielsen.

Christian Juul Nielsen is a fashion industry veteran. He worked under John Galliano at Dior (then with Raf Simons) and later at Nina Ricci with then-creative director Lars Nilsson. He’s since gone on to become the creative director of Hervé Léger, making those itty-bitty bandage dresses more chic. In 2019, he launched his own label, AKNVAS. The line—whose name is a reordering of the word for “canvas” in Nielsen’s native Denmark—focuses on thoughtful, well-designed, and innovative daywear for discerning and dynamic women. Designed to move seamlessly from desk to dinner, with a focus on drape, flattering silhouettes, innovative knits and an elevated palette.
